"Succinct" here means capturing thoughts in a sentence that typically are the subject matter of several books. There is no firm grammatical or compositional rule as to what constitutes a "run-on" sentence (mere length is not a sufficient standard): it's a matter of judgment and taste. Clearly we differ on this score: so be it.
