I get less than $1100 per month in SS benefits. If I'd put my SS FICA contributions in the S&P instead, starting at 26 years of age, I'd have a fortune now.

Yes, SS should be abolished, right after Obamacare and Medicare are. An Amerikan living overseas can still get SS benefits, but he can't get either Obamacare or Medicare. What a country!
