I naively thought that when Republicans asked for less government to help the American people, they did not focus on the fact that less government means fewer police, fire fighters, and teachers. But I was wrong. Romney recently made this connection explicit. He says that having fewer of these important public servants is the message of Wisconsin and would help the American people. (I suppose he thinks these workers are not part of the American people). Could this possibly have been scripted? Does the Romney campaign think this is a message with appeal outside the confines of lunacy within the Tea Party. Listen to what he has to say here.
