As a cradle Catholic--indeed, as a cradle *Irish* Catholic--I have always thought (i.e., since reaching "the age of reason") that it was, and is, more important to be a good Christian than a good Catholic, if one must choose.
And yet, I am sometimes tempted to describe myself as a post-Christian Catholic. Now, what does that descriptor mean? If you're interested, check this out:
