MSNBC will not air an ad by MoveOn urging a boycott of Target because of its political contribution to a candidate for governor in Minnesota who opposes same sex marriage. According to MSNBC, the ad was refused because it attacks an individual corporation, which is contrary to its policy for ads. See Politics Daily.
Of course, it is. The business plan of MSNBC (along with broadcasters and cable companies that accept ads) is to promote an advertising environment designed to be business friendly, an environment that will promote materialism. When the major communications media are organized to promote a uniform message as a central part of their business plan, the public sphere is corrupted
