The Church of England is about to consider the issue of women Bishops with the apparent support of the Archbishops of Canterbury and York and the encouragement of one of England's leading women rabbis. See here. Meanwhile in the U.S., of course, the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church is a woman. I am guessing the Synod would not be considering this issue if the Archbishops of York and Canterbury did not think it would be successful.
Meanwhile, the Roman Catholic Church is poised to declare the attempted ordination of women as priests to be a serious crime. See here.
